The Children's Place Wishlist

"Come along for the ride as The Children's Place on Wheels brings vital mental health services to neighborhoods throughout Kansas City! For nearly 50 years, The Children's Place has been Kansas City's place for children's mental health. This fall they're taking their mental health therapy on the road with The Children's Place on Wheels, a new traveling mental health therapy playroom in a retrofitted minibus.

"We need your help to FILL THIS BUS with the toys needed for a play therapy session. From a dollhouse to a play kitchen, superheroes to baby dolls, all of these toys play an important role in helping young children heal from traumatic events. Could you buy a toy to help stock this bus?"

  • Who Am I Helping? The Children’s Place is a leader—locally and nationally—in trauma-responsive care for children as Kansas City’s specialized trauma treatment agency. The Children’s Place provides four distinct programs to offer a holistic continuum of care and a multi-disciplinary approach to mental health healing. We encourage anyone with a hurt—physical, emotional, or relational—to seek help. We know early intervention has the power to mitigate future health and social issues.
  • Toys help heal! This wishlist was hand-chosen by the teachers and therapists of The Children's Place! They rely heavily on donations from the community to fund and support their program needs. You can be a community superhero by purchasing from their wishlist and shopping local with Brookside Toy & Science. We will match every $200 of donation purchases made from this wishlist with more toys and will deliver everything to their door!
